2026 is the year when the horror genre has made its biggest comeback of all time! We are getting one banger after another, and Backrooms is easily on my top favourites list. This nerve-wracking, psychological, sci-fi horror film was everything a horror and a sci-fi fan had been deprived of. A24 served us both sci-fi and psychological horror on one platter and we all went feral for it. The fear of getting trapped in a never-ending mental maze and the unsettling silence in his headspace was the most haunting thing about Backrooms. We still haven't been able to move on from it yet, but we have been surprised with some more good news.
