President Trump said Wednesday he would issue a $5,000 payment to every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans hold on to both chambers of Congress in the November midterms. "If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them … because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000," he said at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas. "The only caveat I have is that the dividend that we're making must be spent in the United States of America." The president did not specify where the funding would come from or whether he would ask Congress to approve it. Such a move would likely cost more than $1 trillion. #cspan #trump #gopconvention #midterms
