Rep. Chuck Edwards sent colleagues a 22-page defense asking them to reject censure, but the House ultimately voted 413-2 to formally rebuke him following an Ethics Committee investigation into his conduct toward two young female staffers. The bipartisan committee found “persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct,” documenting expensive gifts, personal attention and behavior that placed the women in what investigators described as an untenable position because Edwards was their boss. Edwards denies sexually harassing the women and has announced he will not seek reelection. Ring of Fire's Josh G. explains.
