Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife, Olena Zelenska, landed in Calgary on Wednesday night, for a surprise visit to Canada, including stops in Banff, Toronto, and North Bay. Zelenskyy is set to meet Prime Minister Mark Carney in Calgary on Thursday, where the two leaders will participate in a signing ceremony and joint media availability. This meeting comes just hours before Carney and his Liberal cabinet will gather in Banff to discuss the path ahead in the U.S. trade war. Carney said the visit will focus on the countries’ shared priorities, including deepening defence, economic and energy co-operation. Global National correspondent and the new host of the West Block Jeff Semple is in Banff with the details.
