Memorials were held across the United States Friday, to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. On Sept. 11th, 2001, al-Qaeda hijackers slammed planes into the World Trade Center in New York, crashed into the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field, killing 2,983 men, women, and children. At ‘Ground Zero’ in New York, thousands of people gathered for the World Trade Center Memorial Ceremony, as the loved ones of victims read the names of victims. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance was in attendance, along with former presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden. U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth attended the Pentagon memorial in Arlington, Virginia. A memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania read the names of the heroes of Flight 93, ringing Bells of Remembrance in their honour.
