C-SPAN's "Ceasefire" — Former Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA) and former Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) discuss the successes and failures of Congress in the aftermath of 9/11. Ms. Harman argued that post 9/11 the government got some things correct such as eliminating Osama bin Laden and other perpetrators, but there were many things it got wrong such as misallocation of resources and alienation of allies. "We have weakened our soft power — that is our non-military power," she said. Our diplomacy is underfunded, our aid agencies are disappearing." Mr. Chambliss said he agrees but has hope in the current leadership in the intelligence world. "If legislation is needed, they're ready to do it, but otherwise they're ready to do the other things that make sure that our men and women on the firing line have all the resources they have to keep America safe and secure forever," he replied.
