In 2014, Republicans attacked a proposed overhaul of the White House complex’s bowling alley, and the Republican-controlled House adopted an amendment barring federal money from being used on the project. Twelve years later, the GSA has awarded a $252,876 contract for lighting work at the two-lane Harry S. Truman Bowling Alley, plus roughly $8,800 for security escorts for workers entering the secure complex.
