Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin spoke Friday about the Homeland Security Department's "zero-fail" mission and how the agency was born out of "failures." "The Department of Homeland Security, we were stood up because of failures, honestly," he said at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony. "From Osama bin Ladin and the warning shots, literally, he had for years leading up to that. To even the student-pilots that went to Norman, Oklahoma, to learn, not how to land, but how to fly commercial airliners. There was failures along the way." Secretary Mullin praised the "patriots" at DHS whose job it is to prevent such a terror attack from ever happening again. "Our mission is to make sure it never happens again, meaning that we will always connect the dots," he said.
