A sanctioned combat sports event at Orlando’s publicly owned Kia Center erupted in controversy after Paul Miller, the white supremacist streamer known as Gypsy Crusader, defeated Jewish fighter Ben Azoulay before antisemitic rhetoric, Nazi-style salutes and a swastika flag appeared inside the arena. The City of Orlando condemned the displays and said staff removed the flag, while the Florida Athletic Commission, which permitted the event, initially did not respond to questions about its oversight. The fallout has since prompted calls for the promoter’s license to be revoked and renewed questions about where athletic commissions should draw the line when extremism becomes part of the spectacle.
