Cassandra Cain was created to be a different kind of Batgirl. She couldn't speak and could barely communicate with other people, but she could read body language so perfectly that she could see a punch coming before it was even thrown. She was raised from birth by the assassin David Cain, became one of Batman's most trusted allies, and then eventually headlined a 73-issue Batgirl series of her own. And then, out of nowhere, DC turned her into a villain. Then DC retconned it, and the New 52 reboot wiped Cassandra out completely. But despite all of that, she returned. She is a Batgirl again.
