California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he will not run for president in 2028 if Kamala Harris decides to run again. Newsom made the comments during an interview with CNN. “I don’t know if she runs but we’ll see,” Newsom told CNN's Jake Tapper in a taped interview. “But I wouldn’t run if she ran.” “Of course not. Why would I?,” Newsom added. “I wouldn’t do that to her. I wouldn’t do that to you. I wouldn’t waste everyone’s time. Who needs that?” “I know her base of supporters. I know her friends. The Venn diagram is just pure crossover. I wouldn’t do that to people," Newsom told Tapper. LiveNOW’s Anna Marsick spoke about Newsom’s comments and potential 2028 candidates with political analyst Brian Sobel.
