Donald Trump has teased a looming decision on whether to renew US attacks on Iran as the war remains stuck in a dangerous limbo. He told Axios he could choose to “go in and annihilate them” or hold back, warning that “anything could happen” next. Trump said meetings with Gulf allies at next week’s UN General Assembly could shape his next move as regional tensions surge. The stakes have climbed after fresh Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and reported Iranian strikes on US drones in the region. With peace talks stalled and Tehran issuing fresh threats over the Strait of Hormuz, Trump’s decision could come at a pivotal moment.
