Macklemore says he was removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour after Robert Kraft objected to his pro-Palestinian remarks and Gillette Stadium refused to host him, with other venues reportedly threatening cancellations as well. Sheeran says the decision belonged to promoters and venues and that he spent days trying to resolve the dispute, while several supporting acts subsequently left the tour in solidarity with Macklemore. Macklemore has since pledged $1 million from his tour earnings to Palestinian aid organizations and invited Kraft to contribute as the controversy expands into a broader debate over artists, venues and political speech.
