With a fall session of Parliament beginning Monday, Prime Minister Mark Carney and his Liberal colleagues are at work in Ottawa on the second day of a retreat, mapping out new legislation they want to table. As Mackenzie Gray reports, one item in particular is high on the government’s agenda. “CNN is fake news. MS NOW is fake news, they’re fake news,” U.S. President Donald Trump said from his desk in the Oval Office on Friday. Trump posted on his Truth Social account on Friday that, “I am banning CNN, MSNOW, and Politico from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ fake news.” Trump said even more media outlets will be added to his ban, but did not elaborate on who specifically.
