A federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and wounded a man during an enforcement operation in North Austin, Texas on Sunday. According to officials, the agent rammed the man's vehicle under a highway overpass before opening fire. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition. U.S. Representative Greg Casar (D-TX) and Austin Mayor Kirk Watson have demanded a full, independent investigation into the incident, while explicitly noting that the local police department was not involved in the gunfire.
