Thousands across Canada took part in the 46th annual Terry Fox Run, including in Toronto where participants ran and walked to raise money for cancer research. It was more than four decades ago when Fox set out on his Marathon of Hope in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where the 21-year-old aimed to run across Canada. Fox was forced to end his run outside Thunder Bay, Ont., after 143 days due to cancer that had spread to his lungs. Global’s Lexy Benedict has more on how Canadians are keeping his legacy alive.
