Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna are pushing the Epstein Files Transparency Act II after arguing that the Justice Department has failed to comply fully with the disclosure law Congress passed 427-1 last year. The new bill would allow Epstein survivors, state and local prosecutors and members of Congress to sue the attorney general over records they believe are being unlawfully withheld or redacted, while giving survivors access to unredacted records concerning themselves. The effort remains unresolved after Speaker Mike Johnson sent the House home early for a seven-week recess, postponing congressional action until after the midterm elections.
