The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says the speculation Australia and Canada may join the European Union is “complete nonsense”. “There’s not a snowflake's chance in hell Australia will join the European Union,” Mr Sheridan told News24 host James Macpherson. “We would never subscribe to their rules; we’d have government by the EU without representation in the EU because we’d never have voting rights. “I give Albanese credit for this; I think he was just being polite. “So much of Australian public policy debate just lives in fantasyland.”
