Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney committed $100 million in International Assistance to Palestine on Tuesday that included $80 million in "humanitarian aid, to alleviate immediate human suffering and $20 million to support peace and security capacity." The Canadian PM made the commitment while holding a media availability with accredited Canadian media at the United Nations headquarters in New York City on Tuesday afternoon. Asked if he had met with U.S. President Donald Trump, Carney said it was his strategy at the UNGA was to meet as many leaders he doesn't usually see as he could. Asked about potash after Trump said he'd rather buy the commodity from Belarus at a lower price than Canada, Carney said, "there is a real opportunity... to cooperate and to become fertilizer-independent. So not just potash, but across all ammonia and other fertilizers. that would be good for Canadian farmers. It would be great for American farmers, and it's an opportunity we're prepared to explore
