President Trump said Tuesday the U.S. "rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control" artificial intelligence, saying it would not "stifle" growth of the technology, which he said should now be called "super intelligence." "Whoever wins 'SI,' whoever wins super intelligence, wins," he said at the U.N. General Assembly. "I'm not going to stifle growth of something that will be bigger than the Industrial Revolution — many say bigger than the Industrial Revolution or the internet itself." The president mocked warnings about the potential dangers of AI's rapid development, comparing them to what he called other "hoaxes" and saying the U.S. would "encourage it, not rein it in." "The United States leads the world in super intelligence, and we'll continue to do so safely and responsibly," he said. "Americans have never been a nation that retreats from a frontier or shrinks from a challenge, no matter how great or how daunting that challenge may be." (🎥: UNTV) #trump
