CNN, MS NOW and Politico reporters were denied White House access after Trump announced that he was banning the three organizations over coverage he called “fake news,” prompting the outlets to sue and allege First Amendment violations. CNN reports that Trump aide Natalie Harp showed him television clips and a Politico graphic shortly before the decision, which surprised several senior White House officials.
