Residents in Mexico’s coastal city of Acapulco braced for the arrival of Hurricane Polo on Tuesday as heavy winds on the Pacific coast reached Category 5 strength. Polo is being described as one of the strongest storms in history as the US National Hurricane Center said Polo poses life-threatening flooding risks. The destructive power building in the Pacific stands in stark contrast to the uncharacteristic calm in the Atlantic Ocean - which for the first time in over a century hasn't had a hurricane this season. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum urged Pacific coast residents to remain vigilant in case the hurricane moved further inland, even though the storm was expected to track along the coast. To explain this tale of two oceans, Global’s Chief Meteorologist Anthony Farnell joins Antony Robart.
