Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) chided Flock founder and CEO Garrett Langley for declining an invitation to appear at a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing on his company's network of AI-powered surveillance cameras. "Obviously, they're nervous about being on camera," he joked in his opening statement Wednesday. Sen. Durbin, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, shared Sen. Josh Hawley's (R-MO) concerns about the erosion of privacy and civil liberties with the growth of these networks, saying Congress needs to put in place guardrails. "We have got to find a way to balance in America privacy and security," he said. "I think there is a balance. Congress needs to lead the way." #durbin #flock #ai #security #privacy #cspan
