During question period in the House of Commons on Thursday, Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre called rising diesel prices across Canada “a full-scale diesel price crisis,” as he lambasted Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government for not cutting fuel taxes such as the fuel standard tax. Carney defended his government’s strategy, saying the Build Canada Strong Act “will allow this country to build new refineries and keep diesel prices lower.” “He's totally out of touch,” Poilievre said, “He blames the provinces for inflation under his leadership. He highlights a bill that has been in place for a year and a half and hasn't built a single project.” The prime minister then took a moment to congratulate Poilievre on his 20th anniversary in the House of Commons, highlighting by comparison that unlike the opposition leader, he has been “here for little more than a year.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/12068581/why-are-ontario-farmers-seeking-help-for-dies
