C-SPAN's "America's Book Club" — Scott Turow, author and attorney, discussed his views on the death penalty and his experience on former Gov. George Ryan's (R-IL) commission to review the death penalty. Mr. Turow argued that most people on death row committed the crimes they were accused of, but laid out problems with capital punishment, including the margin of error. "In death cases, the crimes are often so horrible that there is a rush to judgement," he said. "There's a much higher error rate than I would have imagined when I was a prosecutor." Watch the full interview, filmed at @loc SUNDAY at 6pm and 9pm ET/PT on C-SPAN. #cspan #cspanabc #scottturow #books #booktok
