Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stunned a Fox News interview with a blunt answer when asked whether Tehran wants a nuclear bomb. Pressed directly on the question, Pezeshkian replied “Not at all”, invoking religious decrees he said prohibit weapons of mass destruction. Pezeshkian said Tehran would be willing to dilute enriched material and submit its nuclear programme to outside verification. He also claimed Iran remains prepared to revive diplomacy with Washington, pointing to a failed June framework agreement with Donald Trump. The Iranian leader accused the US of wrecking negotiations through military strikes, sanctions and what he described as economic blockades.
