News24 host Jaimee Rogers condemns the government’s approach to Israel, arguing Penny Wong’s criticism of the country is weakening trust with two key Australian allies. “At a time when we need strong relationships with our allies, our government is putting distance between us,” Ms Rogers said. “Israel and The United States. Two countries that matter enormously to Australia's strategic interests and two countries we are turning our backs on. “We saw two extremes on show here, Benjamin Netanyahu correctly calling out the lies about genocide that have plagued our streets, media and universities since October 7, and then Penny Wong continues the demonisation of Israel. “You don't strengthen Australia's position in the world by weakening trust with your allies.”
