Republicans have made streamer Hasan Piker a recurring issue in Michigan’s Senate race, with Mike Rogers calling him Abdul El-Sayed’s “running mate” and highlighting Piker’s past controversial statements in campaign advertising. A September New York Times/Siena poll of likely Michigan voters measured El-Sayed at 49% and Rogers at 44%, while the campaign enters its final weeks with both candidates competing over which issues define the race. The attacks on Piker also featured prominently at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas, where Rogers again tied the streamer directly to his Democratic opponent.
