President Trump said Monday he believes a deal will eventually be reached with Canada amid escalating trade tensions. "They want to have a deal with us. They call us all the time," he told reporters in the Oval Office. "The problem is that they've treated the United States very unfairly. They have been one of the worst countries in the entire world." The president said the Canadians "take advantage" of the U.S. and feel "entitled." "They're not a state. There's nothing they have that we need. We have more energy than they have. We have all the lumber you could possibly use," he said. "They have to treat our country with respect." President Trump predicted a deal would be reached over the next "three or four weeks," with Canada removing all of its tariffs.
