A FlyDubai plane en route to Israel made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia Wednesday after a physical altercation between the pilots broke out two hours into the flight. Flight tracking data shows the aircraft made a sharp descent – plummeting more than five kilometres in less than two minutes – before transmitting an emergency alert. Video footage shows a man alleged to be one of the pilots and other passengers covered in blood. The mother of a passenger also claims the other pilot “tried to kill” his colleague with a knife. The circumstances, however, remain under investigation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu backed this claim, but said the incident is not believed to have been a hijacking, adding that arrangements are being made to bring Israeli passengers home.
