Every time I order a smash burger out, I end up thinking the same thing: I should have just made it at home. A hot pan and a few simple techniques get you crispy edges, juicy beef, and a homemade smash burger that can go right up against the restaurant version. This is a straightforward burger recipe, but it proves the point. A good cheeseburger does not need to be overpriced, overthought, or handed to you in a takeout bag. INGREDIENTS Burger Sauce • 1/3 cup mayo • 1/4 cup ketchup • 3 tbsp yellow mustard • 2 tbsp finely chopped pickles or relish • 1 tbsp pickle juice • 1 tbsp honey • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika • 1 tsp Base Seasoning – https://youtu.be/1Yt_jN1tDfY Caramelized Onions • 1 large yellow onion, small dice • 1 tablespoon olive oil • Pinch of kosher salt Burgers • 1 pound 80/20 ground beef • Kosher salt • Black pepper • 4 slices American cheese • 2 brioche buns • Dill pickle chips #smashburger #burgerrecipe 🍳 COOKING EQUIPMENT: • Japanese Mandoline: https://amzn.to/4qH
