Bear 89, AKA ‘Backpack’, was officially crowned winner of Alaska’s Fat Bear Week Tuesday. A medium-large, adult brown bear, Backpack is known best for his blond ears. The annual competition, which takes place at Katmai National Park, invites the public for vote for the bear they think put on the most weight over the year to help them survive the upcoming hibernation season. #FatBearWeek #Animals #Alaska
