Former Victorian homicide detective Charlie Bezzina reacts to a Coles supermarket in the northern suburbs of Melbourne that suffers $20,000 worth of retail theft a day. “Security guards have got the power, like you and I have, for a citizen's arrest; they will not arrest,” Mr Bezzina told News24 host Steve Price. “A lot of these retailers instruct their security guards to not make arrests, so they’re their own problem.”
