Protesters marched in Madrid on Saturday after Spain’s parliament rejected measures aimed at addressing the housing crisis. The proposals included a ban on evictions of vulnerable tenants, rent freeze extensions and tighter rules for short-term rentals. “We’re not going to settle for the crumbs they always give us,” protester Maria Valeron said on Friday. Demonstrators vowed to continue their encampment in Puerta del Sol and keep pressing politicians to act.
