Elon Musk and Palmer Luckey are joining Newt Gingrich to study the future of warfare, with both entrepreneurs’ companies already doing business with the Pentagon. Pete Hegseth presented Project Meridian as a response to the risks of the military evaluating itself, giving the group 120 days to deliver findings. Luckey’s Anduril has an Army deal worth up to $20 billion, while the panel’s assignment covers battlefields “from under the Earth to beyond the Moon.” In the same speech, Hegseth said roughly 10% of the military’s generals and admirals had been fired.
