U.S. Coast Guard crews off the Nantucket coast have located a debris field confirmed to be from a downed Hamilton-based air ambulance. Officials said Sunday the depth of the water surrounding the debris field was about 80 to 90 feet. The Gulfstream jet was carrying two passengers and four crew members on a flight from Bermuda to Boston when it lost contact. The Canadian-registered air ambulance left L-F Wade International Airport after midnight on Saturday morning and lost contact before reaching Boston. The U.S. Coast Guard was notified around 2 a.m. and dispatched crews 30 minutes later. Coast Guard officials said that while they continue to search the area, they don’t believe anyone on board the jet survived.
