Tali Berkovich-Manes, an Israeli mother travelling with her husband and three daughters, recalled witnessing a cockpit attack on a Sept. 30 FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. She was waiting outside the washroom for her six-year-old daughter when the cockpit door opened and she saw the co-pilot attacking Captain Smit Machchhar. “They are murdering the pilot! Come help! Come help!” she recalled shouting, before the plane plunged and her family feared for their lives. Her husband helped other passengers subdue the attacker, while other pilots landed the aircraft safely in Saudi Arabia, Israeli officials said.
