President Donald Trump suggested during a campaign rally Monday that Iran could "take out" Los Angeles and San Diego. "It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe," Trump said on Monday at the rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. "They can take out a city — let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay." While likely tongue in cheek, Trump's comment drew severe backlash from local leaders. California Governor Gavin Newsom took to social media to call Trump "deranged and dangerous" for Monday's comments. During a rally in Texas on Wednesday, Trump once again mentioned the California cities, saying, "“We’re not going to let that happen. We protect our cities. We protect our country. We’re not letting that happen.” Dr. Benjamin Radd, senior fellow at UCLA's Burkle Center for International Relations, joins LiveNOW's Shawna Khalafi to discuss.
