Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth addressed Marines in San Diego after participating in a training exercise with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing on Wednesday. "Man, you are the best," he told them. "That's why Marines are set apart, that's why warriors are set apart. You're not civilians, you are ordinary people, but you can do extraordinary things because of the incredible training you've been given." The secretary last week announced a 20% reduction in the number of the nation's generals and admirals. He also touted his efforts to revamp the U.S. military by targeting what he calls "woke" culture, including rolling back diversity initiatives, reassessing ground combat units with female service members and implementing a new screening program for "testosterone deficiency" among male personnel. "They tried to soften things, loosen things, change a few rules, push some quotas in, do some nonsense," he said. "Marine Corps said, 'Nah we're not doing that.'" #cspan #petehegseth #military
