Amid a flurry of fossil fuel projects, the federal government is making a $2 billion investment to help fund energy-efficient retrofits to one million homes across Canada. The latest incarnation of the greener homes program will help households install electric heat pumps. Mark Carney spoke in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on Thursday, saying, “There's over a million households in Canada that still heat with oil, with propane or diesel.
