C-SPAN's "America's Book Club" — Min Jin Lee, bestselling author of the award-winning novel "Pachinko," discusses the Korean concept of hagwons and the larger cultural role education plays in Korea. "One of the things that people think about hagwons is just the pathological aspect," she explained. "The pressure, the intensity. But what I wanted to do is to contextualize why people from Korea, who go elsewhere, still hold dear this idea that education is the answer for their life."
