Other Mommy has been one of the most anticipated horror films of the year! Adapted from Josh Malerman’s Incidents Around the House, the movie follows Other Mommy, the demonic presence attached to young Bela, who takes the form of her own mother and haunts her. Directed by Rob Savage, the film introduces this unsettling entity almost immediately and wastes no time in building the intensity of the horror. Honestly, we all believed that the idea of an evil entity pretending to be a child’s mother has plenty of potential, but the film’s predictable story and uneven execution make it really difficult to feel genuinely scared. Written by Nathan Elston, the film skips over how Other Mommy first enters Bela’s life by dropping straight into an already established relationship between the entity and the young girl. #OtherMommy #OtherMommy2026 #OtherMommyEndingExplained
