Home Affairs and Immigration Minister Tony Burke flags a rise in “weird mixes” of ideologies. "We need to be monitoring where Australians are going online in those sorts of networks and do the same sort of interception work,” Mr Burke told News24 Political Editor Andrew Clennell. “We’re now getting people who have that ISIS-style, horrific ideology, but often mixed, sometimes mixed with Nazism, and environmental extremism. “We are getting some weird mixed ideologies, logically inconsistent, all cohering on violence.”
