If your door is rubbing on the floor, it might not be the door… it could be the hinges. Over time, hinges can sag especially on older cottage doors that see a lot of use. That slight drop is enough to make the door start catching on the floor. Instead of rehanging the door or cutting it down, you can fix it by adjusting the hinge knuckles. Bending the knuckles on the upper and middle hinges helps lift the door back into position and stops the rubbing. Simple fix, no cutting, no replacing. Have you ever tried this trick before, or would you have taken a different approach?
