The Crimson King is the most important antagonist in Stephen King’s multiverse. The embodiment and preserver of chaos, he, by existence, wants reality to cease existing and return to the void. But as a cosmic force, he never acts directly. Instead, he orchestrates events across all planes of reality from the shadows. And at the centre of the conflict is the Dark Tower, the existence holding all realities together which the Crimson King wishes to destroy. Too bad to oppose darkness, there is light. The cosmic order ultimately is about balance. As such, the Crimson King’s Chaos is bound to be countered by Roland, who will protect the Dark Tower by hook or by crook as prophecy entails.
