Drones struck two ships in the Black Sea Tuesday, sinking one and prompting emergency rescue operations. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Rumen Radev said one crew member from the sunken vessel was rescued, but provided few details. Rescuers evacuated all 15 crew members from the other ship. Radev called the attacks “absolutely unacceptable” and sought NATO and European Union assistance to identify those responsible. Although Bulgaria does not possess evidence to level an accusation against the party responsible, Radev said the “outcome works to the advantage of the Russian Federation,” and has summoned the Russian Ambassador for a meeting Tuesday.
