If you’re anything like me before I encountered this franchise, you probably think of Friday the 13th as a simple-slasher comfort food about a silent guy in a hockey mask… stalking clueless camp counselors through the dark woods. But once I actually sat down and looked at the entire run of these films, I realized the franchise is far wilder, messier, and more fun than that single preconceived notion suggests. Over the years, I've watched this series constantly reinvent itself and not always for the better… in my opinion. In this video, I will be exploring how a film that started as a regular slasher flick where Jason Voorhees wasn't even the killer, morphed into an unstoppable zombie-slasher phenomenon, and eventually sent its machete-wielding icon everywhere from the streets of Manhattan to deep outer space, before hitting the reset button with a gritty reboot. #FridayThe13th #CrystalLake #FridayThe13thTimeline #jasonvoorhees
