Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced a healthcare fraud crackdown to prevent improper or duplicate health coverage enrollments that would save over $1 billion in payments during a press conference on Wednesday. The HHS secretary said Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) identified and removed 189,000 subsidized enrollments involving Medicare, Medicaid or CHIP enrollments for deceased persons or duplicate enrollees. This move will "prevent $738 million in improper subsidies payments for this year alone, and in an annualized rate, this saving exceeds 1.5 billion," he added. #cspan #rfkjr #healthcarefraud #hhs #cspan
