You have probably seen something like this before and know that it is a representation of DNA. In this educational video, we are going to learn more about DNA and basic genetics, and do an activity along the way! DNA is the genetic information inside our cells that gives us the traits that make us who we are. It is inside every single cell in your body! Think of it this way: DNA is like the code to a video game. Obviously, not all videos games are the same! Genetically speaking, a person inherits one strand of DNA from their biological mother, and another from their biological father. These two strands form the DNA molecule, which looks sort of like a spiral-shape ladder, and contains information on how to make proteins. This shape is called a double helix.
