One of the most important aspects of playing a one-two is the timing of the player on the ball. They need to engage the defender first to create space, before finding their team-mate for the wall pass. Developing a feel for this timing is an essential part of a player’s education. Organisation: 🟡 Extend the field by 10 metres from the previous exercise. 🟡 The ball carrier passes into the central player, who sets the ball before applying pressure immediately and becoming the defender. 🟡 The initial passer and the player at the opposite end then combine in a 2v1 to progress through the corridor, with roles rotating continuously.
